As an experimental anthropologist with a particular love for the audio-visual arts, such as photography, cinematography, painting and calligraphy but also soundrecording, I am passionate about human existence in all its cultural diversity and richeness. The bond of men with 'nature' in general and the current relationship between humans an their environment through the landscape is of particular interest to me. Reflecting about alternative lifeways in this regard is a lifelong mission. The ways in which people interact on a spiritual and material level with their natural surroundings is of passionate intellectual interest to me. My main interest goes towards animistic and shamanistic belief systems throughout (mainly) indigenous societies and first nations of the world. In this respect there is a very special place reserved in my heart for the indigenous Ainu people of Hokkaido (Japan). But the broader - and universal human - relations of humans in general with the natural surroundings is of interest to me (e.g. the landscape of my own native village (Niel-bij-Sint-Truiden, Belgium), the marshlands arround Saint-Omer (France), the urban landscape of Brussels, my hometown, ...)This website and blog is an investigation and documentation of these lifeworlds through the interrelationship of people with their (natural) living space .
